EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Katie is currently Executive Producer on This Town, Steve Knight’s upcoming new 6 part series for BBC1, set in Birmingham in 1981, that sees a thrilling new world of music collide with a dangerous underworld and family tensions, with all six episodes directed by Paul Whittington. Other recent credits as Executive Producer include Ben Chanan’s 8 part series Then You Run for Sky, a darkly funny thriller based on Zoran Drvenkar’s novel You, directed by Robbie McKillop; and the International Emmy award-winning BBC2 drama Responsible Child, written by Sean Buckley and directed by Nick Holt.

 

Katie joined from Big Light, where she built the company’s first slate of original development. She was previously Executive Producer at BBC Wales Drama, where her credits included Ashley Pharoah’s The Living And The Dead for BBC1 and BBC America.

 

Her first role at the BBC was as Creative Director, BBC Drama Production, charged with overseeing all in-house development and heading up the central development team. During this time she also executive produced the second series of Dominic Mitchell’s award-winning In the Flesh for BBC3.

 

Before moving to the BBC, Katie was part of the small team that launched Lookout Point. During her time as Head of Development there, she developed projects including Ripper Street for BBC1 and Titanic for ITV.

 

Katie started her career working in theatre, directing new writing and classics in the West End and across the UK.
